An Unbreakable Rainbow
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Between 2012 and 2015 a solid rainbow structure in Warsaw, Poland was burned down several times by nationalists and other opponents of LBGT rights. If people had done nothing, accepted the boot that trampled them, evil would have triumphed.
Instead, the LGBTQ+ community of Warsaw has proven that it is unbreakable. No one can silence them because they refuse to do nothing. The current structure is clever, a water hologram made from a curtain of vapour, which cannot be torched like the previous structures.
This is an obvious resistance by members of a country becoming more conservative and after making world news, hopefully enough to encourage the people of Poland to resist. For the good people to do something.
The community we belong to is not like the solid structure which originally existed. It is not hardened, touchable, it is not one thing, in one place.
It is welcoming, spiritual, it is inspiring and seen around the world. It is the thing that appears after struggle. People will underestimate us but we are the unbreakable rainbow.
